about

Are you sitting comfortably?
Then we will begin.

Welcome to The Resource Centre.

Sunlight fixed in glass, a melody glides from window pane to page of text, oscillating there between the lines.
A sandpit folly.
A woodblock symphony.
A trip of dotterel.
A hidden memory.

John Hanson is a Birmingham-based artist who has worked previously alongside Matt Saunders as Magnetophone. The Resource Centre’s moderate approach to writing and recording often leads to wide-open and balanced compositions. With the emphasis on harmony and composition, The Resource Centre’s disciplined and discreet approach creates unfolding electronic musical structures borrowed from a select palette to create evocative and beautiful forms.

For fans of:
Terry Riley.
Birdwatching.
John Cage.
That warm feeling you get when remembering your first school.
Music concrete.
